Pitching Basics: Your Simple Path to Achieving College Level Success on the Mound

  • Closed

Another walk? Why can’t I just throw strikes? How can I be a good pitcher if I can’t get people out?

Are you a young pitcher, or the parent or coach of a young pitcher who has ever said these words? You’re frustrated and confused because when you’re out on the mound, you’re doing everything you’ve been taught and what you think is right, but the ball just doesn’t go where you want it to go – and you don’t know why.

Trust me, I have been there.  My first travel baseball season was when I was 9 years old. I was on the taxi squad team, or the part time team.  I didn’t have a primary position, and the one game I pitched was really one OUT that I pitched because I had more walks than outs. The coach pulled me after the other team scored 5 quick runs and I thought I was never going to pitch again.

One of my coaches, Coach Graves, who was a former pitcher in college, took me aside one practice and taught me the basic mechanics of the pitching motion.
Let’s just say I fell in love with pitching after that. I became the best pitcher on the team and ended up pitching at the college level.

In order to throw more consistent strikes, walk less batters, and get more outs – all I needed was a foundation of basic mechanics that I could easily repeat and build a successful pitching career on, and that’s exactly what every young pitcher needs to be successful on the mound.

Hi there, I’m coach Hart with Building Better Baseball, and I’m here to be “Coach Graves” for your child.

Introducing Pitching Basics.  I've put together over 20 years of pitching experience and broken down the entire pitching motion, from start to finish, into step-by-step lessons that are easy to understand and repeat – all in one simple course.

Are you ready to start having consistent success on the mound?

~ What are people saying about Pitching Basics??

Youth Pitcher Carson Gumm,
from Phoenix, Arizona,
said this about Pitching Basics:
"Coach Hart did a terrific job of explaining the mechanics in a simpler form for young pitchers, such as myself, than others do. The mental parts of the course helped me a lot to understand why I'm struggling with location. You need a powerful mind for powerful pitches".
